The event began with a short service of remembrance in the chapel, to remember the hundreds of service personnel and civilians who died in the Malayan Emergency and the Indonesian Confrontation between 1948 and 1966.

It was followed by entertainment from the Ghurka Transport Regiment, who performed their famous Kukri dance, and a raffle to raise money for the Ghurka Benevolent Fund.
