THE Malaysian government have announced the award of the Pingot Jasa Malaysian Medal known as the PJM for all Australian forces who served in Malaya during the emergency.
At the moment there are no plans to award the medal to British forces who bore the brunt of the fighting from 1948-1960, the Australians only serving from 1955-1960.
Brian Iddon has already assured me of his support towards the approval of awarding the PJM to all UK forces who served during the emergency.
I appeal to all ex-jungle bashers to write to all other local MPs to enlist their support in this issue.
